April 24: 11am-12:30pm &
April 25: 11am-12pm via Zoom
Join Andrei Jay on an introductory exploration into the intersections of video synthesis and chaos theory using their Video_Waaaves software suite! At the end of this workshop you will have learned the fundamentals of working with real time video feedback, video mixing, and video synthesis systems in general, along with gaining an intuitional knowledge of nonlinear dynamical systems without having to even glance at a single differential equation! No technical experience in mathematics, coding, or video worlds is necessary, just a desire to learn and some kind of a computer built in the last 12 or so years (osx and windows only for this workshop, chromebooks, ipads, and linux are beyond the scope of this course).

Each workshop will consist of a short screening of artists’ films and videos demonstrating the techniques used and two 1-hour info sessions, one on Saturday and one on Sunday. Participants will use Saturday evening and Sunday morning to continue experimenting and share their progress at the Sunday meeting.
