LA AIR invites local artists to utilize EPFC resources in creating and premiering new, experimental, documentary, and personal work over a two-month period. Join us for a screening of new work by Nevin Kallepalli!

Filmmaker Nevin Kallepalli will be presenting an excerpt of a longer film that addresses the ways in which music is utilized as a tool of cultural and political organizing among the Bangladeshi diasporic community of Los Angeles. Locations shot are in the Little Bangladesh neighborhood, nestled between Koreatown and East Hollywood, at the Bangaldeshi Pride parade as well as among the home of Bangladeshi musical performers.

Swampy's Diaries

For the “bootleg artist” known as Swampy, the world is an endless living canvas. Variations on his signature “swampdonkey” tag — the skull of some imaginary tusked creature — can be found in almost every imaginable setting across America: dilapidated skyscrapers in Oakland, Calif.; train trestles in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; gallery walls in Atlanta or Brooklyn.
