CITY OF ANGELS ’17: The EPFC Fall Youth Class


An experimental documentary class focused on family and community stories… The fifth in an ongoing series that began way back in 2005! This class is open to youth 12-19 years old; all equipment, materials and instruction provided FREE by EPFC! Each participant will make their own short film that explores, examines and celebrates our home, the City of Angels.

The first session on September 16 is an orientation session for all participating students and their parent or guardian.

The project will premiere on Sunday, November 12 at a venue to be announced.

Instructors are EPFC Youth Film Program alumni Gemma Jimenez, Walter Vargas, Jade Faith and Eliza Jimenez.

Cinema Organica at Oxy Arts on York as part of Breaking Bread LA

For this special workshop presented in conjunction with Oxy Arts as part of this year's CurrentLA: Food, LA's public art triennial, participants will work together with Super 8 cameras to create a collaborative film about their neighborhood, then process the analog footage on-site using gathered fruit, flowers and leaves. By substituting organic material for toxic chemical developing agents, participants create vibrant works of art that celebrate and respect the community, ecology and the environment.
