ACTION! Cinema As Catalyst presents District B13

Saturday, October 7 at 8 pm

Doors 7:30; $5 suggested donation.

ACTION! Cinema As Catalyst invites filmmakers and activists to present a “political” film that in some way inspires/reflects their own work. This month’s guest is Ayesha Siddiqi who has selected District B13.

District B13, among the worst ghettos of Paris, has been walled off from the rest of the city. Taha, the ruthless leader of a gang in the district steals a nuclear weapon, forcing an undercover cop and an ex-thug to join forces to infiltrate the gang and stop the bomb from detonating in less than 24 hours.

Ayesha Siddiqi is a writer and tv/film developer based in LA, and on the board of the New Inquiry. Her work focuses on the US empire, pop culture, Islamophobia and the overlaps, frictions, and fissures in between.

ACTION! Cinema As Catalyst is curated by Aliza Khan.
